In March of 2007, Sherill made her first trip to Uganda, Africa. During this trip, the operating theater at the health clinic in Rukunguri that Mosaic Vision was funding is now underway and should be completed soon.
Sherill wrote this as a excerpt for the Church of Uganda's Newsletter...
"As we stand on the top of Prayer Mountain looking out over the lush green hillsides of Rukunguri, our breath is taken away at the beauty that we are surrounded with. From this view the pain and suffering of the people below can not bee seen. Our hearts have been broken many times in the past days as we have had the privilege of visiting many homes belonging to the children orphaned by AIDS. It break's our hearts that they have no one to care for them. As we drive down the bumpy dirt roads of Rukunguri we can see the immense needs of the people we are passing. Many stop and look at us as we pass with somber, questioning looks on their faces. As soon as we lift our hand to wave, they immediately wave back at us and their beautiful smiles light up their faces. At this moment there feels as if there is no separation between us. We may look different on the outside, but God has created us exactly the same on the inside.
